What a template video provides

These four cards describe planned fan-made source-video options. A written scene description is not the template file: each option needs its actual video asset before it can be processed. The source defines the bodies, clothing, instruments, movement, and camera. Photos supply replacement faces. Empty performer slots retain the original template faces.

Set up a template video face swap in 3 steps

01

Step 1 Choose an existing template video

Watch the source performance and identify the person you want to replace. Check head turns, face visibility, camera cuts, and any microphone in front of the mouth. Choose the action you want to keep. The current media slots remain labeled placeholders until the template videos are provided.

02

Step 2 Upload and map face photos

Use one clear adult portrait per selected person. Assign the lead first and add supporting portraits only for faces you want changed. Keep the photo order consistent with the target labels. A photo with similar head orientation can be easier to compare against the source. Unfilled targets keep their existing faces.

03

Step 3 Generate, review, and download

When processing is connected, submit the source video and mapped images together. Check the returned faces, untouched people, body movement, background, and any retained sound before downloading. For now, Preview my setup saves settings locally without uploading photos or producing a face-swapped video.

Compare planned template videos

01 / LEAD FACE REPLACEMENT

Solo Soul Concert

Source scene
A planned source clip with a singer in front of an office band, shelves, and a desk. Video asset pending.
Source framing
Lead in front; guitar, keys, and drums behind. Preserve the source framing and each performer’s position.
Face photo
A clear adult face matching the lead’s general angle; separate portraits for optional supporting targets.
FACE REPLACEMENT PROMPT

Use the selected Solo Soul Concert template video as the source footage. Replace only the lead singer's face with the face from portrait one. If additional mapped portraits are provided, replace the guitarist's face with portrait two, the keyboardist's face with portrait three, and the drummer's face with portrait four. Leave every unmapped person unchanged. Preserve the source bodies, hairstyles, clothing, instruments, gestures, mouth movement, camera motion, lighting, background, and timing. Keep each replacement assigned to the same performer throughout the clip, including head turns and brief occlusions. Blend face edges and skin tone with the source lighting without redesigning the room. Retain cleared source audio only where supported; do not generate a song or clone a voice. Do not add people, logos, broadcast graphics, scenes, or new performance actions.

02 / ACOUSTIC VIDEO FACE SWAP

Acoustic Afternoon

Source scene
A planned source video featuring a seated acoustic performer beside a desk in soft daylight. Video asset pending.
Source framing
The existing seated framing and guitar remain. Replace the performer’s face without requesting new strumming or camera angles.
Face photo
One unobstructed adult face with a similar head angle. A full-body or guitar-playing photo is unnecessary.
FACE REPLACEMENT PROMPT

Use the selected Acoustic Afternoon template video as the source footage and portrait one as the face reference. Replace only the acoustic performer's face, keeping the reference identity consistent across the existing head movements. Preserve the source hairstyle, body, seated posture, clothes, guitar, hands, strumming, room, lighting, camera movement, and duration. Do not create a new guitar performance or transfer the photo's background into the clip. Match the edited face edge and skin tone to the source light. Keep any other visible people unchanged. Retain the template's cleared audio only if the processor supports it; do not change the voice or compose new accompaniment. Do not add cuts, captions, logos, furniture, or extra performers.

03 / KEYBOARD VIDEO FACE SWAP

After-Hours Keys

Source scene
A planned keyboard performance filmed beside office shelving and a warm lamp. Video asset pending.
Source framing
The face stays above the existing keyboard. Preserve the recorded shot, finger movement, and instrument geometry.
Face photo
A sharp adult portrait close to the performer’s face angle, with visible eyes and an uncovered jawline.
FACE REPLACEMENT PROMPT

Use the selected After-Hours Keys template video as the source and portrait one as the replacement face reference. Change only the keyboard performer's facial identity. Keep the face assigned to that performer through the original movement and partial occlusions. Preserve the template's hairstyle, body, clothes, hands, keyboard, playing gestures, lamp, shelves, lighting, camera motion, and timing. Do not invent a new keyboard solo, alter the room, or copy objects from the portrait background. Blend the face into the existing light while keeping its recognizable features. Keep every other visible person unchanged. Retain cleared template sound only where supported, without new music or voice cloning. Do not add camera cuts, logos, captions, or extra limbs.

04 / MAPPED MULTI-FACE EDIT

The Little Office Band

Source scene
A planned office-band source clip containing a singer, guitarist, keyboardist, and drummer. Video asset pending.
Source framing
Use the recorded ensemble layout. Label the source people before assigning references so identities do not switch.
Face photo
Separate adult face photos for selected targets; consistent photo order matters more than matching clothes or posture.
FACE REPLACEMENT PROMPT

Edit the selected Little Office Band template video using the mapped portrait references. Assign portrait one to the lead singer, portrait two to the acoustic guitarist, portrait three to the keyboardist, and portrait four to the drummer, only when each reference is supplied. Replace those faces and retain the existing template faces for every empty slot. Keep each identity attached to its assigned performer across all frames. Preserve the source bodies, hairstyles, outfits, instruments, hand movements, performance, camera, room, lighting, and duration. Do not swap whole bodies, create missing musicians, or transfer one reference onto several people. Match each face boundary to its source lighting and occlusions. Retain cleared source audio only if supported. Do not introduce a different song, cloned voice, logos, captions, or scene changes.

Video inputs and preservation settings

The video input is required. A portrait plus a scene prompt asks a model to invent footage instead of identifying the exact clip to edit. Use the selected source video, target-person mapping, and face references. No numeric seed or identity-strength setting is promised here because supported controls depend on the provider.

Keep source timing and camera movement in the instructions. Treat 9:16 and 16:9 as output preferences to confirm against each template, not as new viewpoints. Ask to retain cleared template audio only if supported. A face replacement prompt does not request new music, new lip-sync, or a cloned voice.

Match the face photo to the performer

Choose a sharp face with visible eyes and natural skin detail. Avoid sunglasses, masks, heavy beauty filters, and tiny faces inside group photos. Match the target’s general face angle where possible. The reference does not transfer your hairstyle, clothes, body, or background into the template. Review the edited hairline and jaw rather than assuming every surrounding detail will match your photo.

Template & Prompt FAQ

Is a Tiny Desk AI template a video or a text prompt?

It is the existing video to be personalized. The accompanying prompt tells the processor which faces to replace and what to preserve. The prompt cannot substitute for the source video input.

What happens when I leave a face slot empty?

That performer keeps the existing template face. Empty slots do not create new band members or remove people from the source. Actual support for editing several targets must be confirmed with the connected provider.

Can I copy the face replacement prompts?

Yes. Adapt the photo-to-person mapping to the selected video while keeping the preservation instructions. These are this site’s suggested instructions, not an official program asset or a guarantee of a flawless swap.

Do templates change the singer’s voice?

No. This workflow changes selected faces. It does not make a performer sing in your voice or supply a commercial recording. Retaining a source soundtrack depends on both processing support and the rights to that audio.
